INSIGHTS
Cross-border market intelligence - Korea and the United States.
We track transaction activity across six sectors where Korean and American businesses meet. This research informs our readiness work: it tells us what buyers in each sector actually require, and therefore what a business must be able to show.
We publish what we observe. We do not represent buyers or sellers. Nothing on this page is an offer, a solicitation, or investment advice. Figures are as of the date shown and reflect published reporting at that time.

Beauty Supply & Brand IP
Demand is proven; the contest has moved to distribution, regulatory registration, and brand ownership. Korean brand houses are buying U.S. distributors outright to internalize channel and Korean-American-owned distributors have become the acquisition target. For owners in this sector, MoCRA registration status and whether the trademark sits in a personal or corporate name are now valuation items, not paperwork.
+27.3%
- Readiness implication:
- trademark ownership
- regulatory registration
- lease terms

Light Medical Equipment & Disposables
takes months to years to obtain, so acquiring a company that already holds one is frequently cheaper than earning one. Meanwhile, tariff differentials on disposables have opened a sourcing gap that favors non-Chinese supply. Owners holding clearances, facility registrations, or GPO relationships are holding more value than they realize.
510(k)
- Readiness implication:
- clearance transferability
- facility registration
- customer concentration

Environment & Water Treatment
The least-developed corridor of the six, and therefore the least crowded. Most U.S. municipal water capital projects draw on federal funds carrying domestic-steel requirements, which effectively excludes imported equipment regardless of price. The practical consequence: a U.S. fabricator holding NSF/ANSI 61 certification and domestic-content eligibility is a strategic asset to a Korean technology firm a category of buyer most owners in this sector have never considered.
$74.2B
- Readiness implication:
- certification portfolio
- domestic-content eligibility
- service contract base

Environment & Water Treatment
U.S. demand is strong while the economics of importing finished Korean machinery have deteriorated sharply under current tariff treatment. Korean manufacturers are responding by acquiring assets inside North America rather than exporting into it. What they need most is the one thing capital cannot build quickly: an installed base and a trained service network. That describes a great many owner-operated U.S. distributors now approaching retirement.
$74.2B
- Readiness implication:
- installed-base documentation
- technician retention
- parts inventory quality
